Minalungao National Park, A Gem in Central Luzon
Long weekends for us mean an opportunity to visit a new place and get out of the city. For the Labor Day Weekend, we decided to visit a less popular destination and opted to explore the fresh waters and limestones at Minalungao National Park.
As we arrived at the location, we were greeted by local tour guides - mostly kids. We ended up with a bubbly little boy named James Bond. After our morning snacks, we made our way up the hill and traversed the limestones to reach one of the caves in the park.
We then settled ourselves by the river bend and had lunch. The water was very inviting so we spent most of the afternoon swimming on the river and jumping off cliffs with James Bond.
On our way back, we decided to swim/float along the scenic Penaranda river, which gave a different but equally beautiful view of the limestone walls.
It was another weekend well-spent.
