Slow Paced at Gumasa Beach
It's been awhile since we last visited my hometown, Davao City and I just really wanted to go home so we booked our flights.
This trip was quite memorable because we had a fun opportunity to go on a road trip with Mom. We drove 3 hours to Glan, Saranggani Province and settled ourselves at Rosal Resort along Gumasa Beach.
Since we arrived quite late in the afternoon and we were not allowed to rent a kayak, we stayed by the beach and swam towards the floating deck and enjoyed the sunset.
(TRIVIA: The resort has odd rules, which annoyed us a bit. For example, kayak rental is only until 3pm because the tides change around that time and the waters can be rough. See picture above and look for 'waves'.)
The next morning, we woke up early so we can maximize the time to explore and snorkel around the area. We were then told by the resort staff that we could not kayak beyond the floating deck because the lifeguard can't see you and when we checked, there was no lifeguard watching. Needless to say, we disobeyed, took the kayak and paddled away. We made a good decision because corals were bountiful in the area.
We even visited the local market to buy fresh catch for our lunch. In the afternoon, we decided to drive home so we can spend a day in the house.
On our last day, laziness crept in and we decided to stay home and enjoyed the garden. We went to the market to buy some fruits and seafood.
Oh how I miss the simple life in the province! Davao will always be home.
