In Coron During the Typhoon Hagupit
This was of the of well planned trip for which we got a bargain flights from Manila and great accommodation in downtown Busuanga near the sea port and a market. The only issue, we went there exactly 2 days before the Typhoon Hagupit did.
The way to the lake is quite entertaining as well. When we got there there was nobody, perfect...
Most of the time we spent going around snorkeling and free-diving.
On the right side of the lake there is a small cave with just enough light for some pictures, feels little bit like a heaven.
After a short dip we went to Barracuda Lake. To get there we had to go through short wooden path, which was even better then the way to Kayangan Lake.
Barracuda Lake has also better visibility, but almost no fish. It is famous for its cathedral-like rocky steep walls disappearing deep down in the lake.
The same day we went to Mount Tapyas View Deck, which is just 25 minutes walk from the town.
We have been tracking the typhoon that night to decide what to do, The typhoon had projected trajectory just between Busuanga and Manila. We knew the local authorities will cancel the flights, and not allow the boat rides. It was a clear signal for us to start to arrange the return flight as soon as possible, before all the other 300 tourists.
We got home just before the typhoon arrived. Lucky us, we even got our unused nights in the Dessert Rose Hotel reserved for the next time. Even if short this trip was really awesome and somehow relaxing.
In a way it was good, because there were not so many tourists, only 300+ , as per local authorities for the rescue purposes. The weather in fact was quite ok, no wind, mostly cloudy but with sun as well. When we got to the Busuanga Airport, everything seemed to be just right, no cancellations, no issues, just preparations for the typhoon in the town.
First day, since we arrived quite late, we did only short island hopping and visited the must-see places, starting with Kayangan Lake. To get there we trekking for few minutes uphill were is this viewpoint.

Since the second day the boat rides where already cancelled, we decided to only dip ourselves in the thermal waters of the Maquinit Hot Spring, which is very pleasant during sunset or night.
It is surrounded by mangrove forest, which makes it even better.
