Papua New Guinea - Alotau District

Our trip started with a 5 hours delay flights and Max had a good time with flight attendants.

Air Nuigini offered us a stay in an airport hotel where we swam with Max and local people in the swimming pool.

We moved to Alotau Gurney airport and from there took a private 4x4 car via local dirt roads to the port from where we were transported to the Tawali Resort.

The first day we snorkeled in the house reef and saw a large school of  yellow stripe trevally under service wharf and a large school of sardines under the main wharf.

On the 2nd  day we went to dive to Wahoo Point ( with turtle and eagle ray and 2 large resting barracudas and a giant moray eel) and  House reef  (bumphead parrot fish).

On the 3rd day we repeated Wahoo Point ( eagle ray) and Barracuda Point ( yellowtail barracuda and large schools of yellowtail trevally and snappers). There was a local village dance dispaly in the lookout.

On the forth day we kayaked to the other reef on the right side of the resort and we saw large schools of small coral reefs and a grouper. The snorkeling was great because of the steep reef drop full of corals.

We also swam with Max by the service wharf.

On the fifth day  we went to outer reef off from Milne bay and on the first dive in Tania's reef we saw white tip reef shark and Epaulette Shark and on the second dive we saw the  and black tip reef shark and crocodile fish and lacy scorpion fish  in Cobb's Cliff. The third dive was  with black snappers inBoi Boi Waga Island. After coming back we swam with Max and a barracuda by the service wharf.

We stayed in Tawali Resort in room 19 but soon after the management team from Philippines was kind enough to move us to the bungalow with the view to the sea. Max was favorite of all, from kitchen and dining are staff, to receptionists, management , guards and maintenance, everybody took care of him, even if he had official babysitter Doris.

After quite shocking experience on the fifth day we just took rest on the sixth day and bonded with the Israeli couple of  friends, family of Doris and the rest of the staff .

On the next day we went to Port Moresby. Max had a good time with staff at the Gurney Airport.

We stayed in The Stanley hotel with free buffet meals  and  a short swim, All was was fully paid  by Tawali Resort, as well as rebooking of our flights and also our stay and dives price was waived.

The next day we went back to Manila.
